My daughter Ella has been a Lala Fan for quite awhile. She always talked about her friends’ dolls and how cute they were. I occasionally saw a commercial but I am not the sort to usually pay attention to a toy commercial, but I did think they were quite cute!  Well, her desire for one of the dolls just got stronger over time so for last Christmas her awesome grandma and uncle scored her a Silly Hair Jewel Sparkles! I was excited FOR HER and we began to look online to see what we could find as we waited for the big day to come. We went to the official Lalaloopsy website and I began to TRULY understand, these dolls were about imaginative play, creativity and individuality, the sort of things I like to instill into MY girls! From then on I was hooked! I had to find her a Lala from Santa to go with Silly Hair Jewel, just HAD to! We ended up finding a Silly Hair Crumb Sugar Cookie for her Santa gift and a few cute minis for her stocking. I found the doll on Craigslist for about $15 over retail as in our little town was wiped pure CLEAN of any dolls at Christmastime. The minis were found at our Target.
I began to understand after Christmas that many, if not almost ALL these dolls were quite hard to find. My youngest daughter Alma just turned three and I got her a Suzette La Sweet from Ebay and a Bundles Snuggle Stuff that I found at a post-Christmas stocking at Target. This was the day I saw Rosie Bumps N Bruises *le sigh* and Pix E as well as a few other hard to find Lalas. I realized I was going to have to begin a collection of my own. Alma LOVED her birthday gifts and Ella loves her big and mini Lalaloopsies- now the boys are clamoring for boy dolls! My son Dana has a Patch Treasurechest mini and plays with it daily if his older brother Noah hasn’t swiped it to play with himself!
I am actually kind of happily surprised all my youngest kids like the same toy. This makes it easy to bribe them for good behavior with Lala tea parties and momma-made Lalaloopsy clothes. 🙂 Yep, The Lala Momma knits and crochets and Lala Grandma sews, so I see some handmade adorable-ness in the very near future!
Which leads us to…my modest collection! I now am a Lala-Lala Momma (haha) to my sweet Rosie who I fell for because she looks like both Coraline and Katy Perry, oh the clothing possibilities hehe! LalaDad bought me Coral Sea Shells and I am waiting on some more dolls from orders to arrive to me this week, but nil on them for now since I don’t know if I will keep or gift them to the kids! ;D I plan to take some artsy photos of them to share!
